Built for the institutions that keep Nigeria's financial system working
FinovaMax was built for the long tail of regulated lenders that international vendors overlook:
- Microfinance banks running aging core systems under constant CBN and NDIC reporting pressure.
- Finance companies and fintech lenders stitching together payment APIs, scrambling for security and audit-readiness as they scale.
- Cooperative societies digitising savings, loans, and member contributions — replacing spreadsheets with software their members can trust.
If your institution is in this market and you've ever felt that tier-1 banking software was priced for someone else, FinovaMax was built for you.
Compliance was never going to be optional. It shouldn't have been an upcharge either.
For the institutions FinovaMax serves, regulatory work is the operating reality — CBN returns, NDIC filings, NFIU CTR/STR, IFRS 9 ECL provisioning, BOFIA 2020 §19 insider-lending monitoring, KYC tiering, NDPR data-subject rights. The work is constant. The risk of getting it wrong is licence-level.
Legacy core-banking vendors built their compliance modules as add-ons. FinovaMax was engineered the other way around: the compliance engine sits at the centre of the platform, and every other capability — loans, savings, payments, mobile — connects through it. That is what "compliant by design" actually means.
The other half of the answer: enterprise-grade architecture should not be priced exclusively for tier-1 banks. The institutions that need it most are the ones least able to afford it. Nigeria's microfinance, finance, and cooperative sector serves tens of millions of Nigerians. The vendors building their software should match that scale of ambition.
Built by Apex Grid Technologies
FinovaMax is a product of Apex Grid Technologies Ltd, a Nigerian engineering firm — RC 9108833, incorporated in Nigeria in 2025, founded 2024. Headquartered in Lagos with operations in Abuja.
Apex Grid was founded to bring end-to-end accountability to enterprise banking software in Nigeria: architecture, data integrity, regulatory automation, and the operational discipline that complex financial systems demand. FinovaMax is the firm's first product.
The leadership team — five executives spanning engineering, financial technology, marketing, and corporate governance — is profiled at apexgridapps.com/leadership.
A note on the founder
Francis Oyakhire cofounded Apex Grid Technologies in 2024 after more than two decades implementing enterprise systems across finance, higher education, utilities, and consumer goods — full-cycle ERP rollouts on Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle EPM (FCCS) deployments for financial consolidation and close, and the data-conversion work that keeps a business running through a system replacement.
That experience — at the intersection of legacy systems, regulatory reporting, and the discipline of making data trustworthy — is what shapes how FinovaMax is built. The full founder bio is on the Apex Grid leadership page. Connect on LinkedIn.
